Itinerary

📃 Read below for our detailed itinerary of The Great Euro Adventure!

Each destination on the itinerary is written by someone different, just because they love this location and wanted to tell you about it!

DAY 1

UK Departures

The Great European Adventure begins in Manchester/London. We will travel through the night to Amsterdam, crossing the English channel at Dover.

Please meet us an hour before the coach is due to depart, this is the perfect time to introduce yourself to your travel fam!

DAY 2

Amsterdam

Kick off your Great European Adventure with our number one european destination – Amsterdam.

The playground of the Netherlands is the ultimate place to start your adventure!

Arrive on the first day to meet your new travel family! Check into one of Amsterdam’s best city centre hostels and then head out to explore the traditional canal streets adorned with magnificent townhouses and historical landmarks.

This evening, meet the Invasion reps in the hostel reception and we will be going for welcome drinks to meet your travel fam followed by the Invasion bar crawl! This is a great way to tour some of Amsterdam’s most famous bars whilst getting to know your new travel fam!

DAY 3

Amsterdam

A city boasting an abundance of activity, Amsterdam will shatter your senses into submission.

On day two in Dam you’ll be eager to continue your exploration of this mystical city. Chat to our reps who have that local knowledge to take your time in Amsterdam to the next level.

Why not embark on our exclusive canal boat party or sample the best coffee shops in town with our coffee shop crawl, Amsterdam really does have it all. After tasting all the Dutch delicacies, be it the cheese, beer or snacks.

DAY 4

Amsterdam

With twice as many bikes as people, the opportunity to rent a bike is certainly one not to be missed.

On your third day in Amsterdam you’ll be truly immersed into the Dutch lifestyle and will never want to leave.

Whether you’re sampling the local lager during a trip to the renowned Heineken factory, visiting the home of Anne Frank or chanting football anthems at the Johan Cruijff Arena, home of Dutch football giants AFC Ajax, the ‘Venice of the North’ will astonish and excite in equal measure.

DAY 5

Amsterdam to Berlin

That’s it, your trip has officially started, you’ve made loads of new friends and it’s time to cross the border to Berlin!

Hopefully you’ve had some time to recover on the coach from Amsterdam. Time to tick off the second country on The Great Euro Adventure! Welcome to Berlin – this exciting, vibrant and diverse city is a must when traveling Europe! Good news for you, Berlin is one of the cheapest capital cities in Western Europe, making it a hit with the backpackers!

Make the most of your 2 nights stay in Berlin. We recommend as soon as you arrive, get ready, grab a bite to eat then hit the bars and clubs! The Mitte district is great if you like a little bit of everything or visit Kreuzberg, known as Hipster Berlin.

If you are up for a big night, the Germans really know how to party, boasting a wild nightlife scene. It is home to one of the most exclusive clubs in the world called ‘Berghein’. It is basically impossible to get into but apparently it’s absolutely unreal – if you do manage to get in please let us know how it is!!

DAY 6

Berlin

Berlin by day, one of the most popular attractions in Berlin is of course the Reichstag Building, the glass dome is spectacular. Admission is free (amazing!) but we would recommend booking this in advance as slots do book up quickly. From the dome you’ll have panoramic views of one of the most green cities in Europe, with beautiful canals and gardens you won’t feel like you’re in the capital city, making summer the perfect time to visit.

For all your food fanatics, the food in Berlin is fantastic! Stereotypically, many people assume German cuisine is heavy, rich and meat based… However, it is actually a haven for vegetarians and vegans (if that’s your thing!). With over 470 restaurants serving vegan options there is something for everyone – washed down with a stein of course!

On the final night in Berlin, join us at the famous Hofbrauhaus in Alexanderplatz. Home to Bavarian beer and traditional German food. The haus has live music and the staff wear regional dress making it a very authentic experience!

DAY 7

Berlin to Prague

After journeying on from Berlin, you’ll be met with the Gothic architecture of Prague in the early afternoon. When travelling Europe, you’ll experience plenty of beautiful historical monuments, but few compare to the 610 year old Astronomical Clock in the town square! That’s where we’ll head first, take it all in, and then run far away from the tourist area surrounding it.

You can spend your afternoon riding the Beer Bikes around town or going sightseeing – there’s plenty to see and do. Being one of the cheapest European cities, you can pop into bars and get a world beating pilsner for the equivalent of £1.20!  If you’re up to it, you can climb the 299 steps up Petrin Tower for beautiful views of Bohemia and some wonderful gardens and monuments.

After plenty of exercise and alcohol, we’ll send you to the heart of European nightlife – Karlovy Lázně. 5 stories, an Ice bar and Absinthe everywhere.

A tour of Europe would be incomplete without watching at least one person consume, and subsequently un-consume, a fluorescent green liquid – like a bird regurgitating a radioactive worm for its chicks. It’s safe to say, you won’t forget your time at Europe’s biggest club!

DAY 8

Prague

Nursing your hangover on day 2, visit the 5000+ animals at Prague Zoo! That’ll take the edge off, and will be a welcome adventure at the halfway point of your European journey!

If you need a bit more time to recover, you can always take a stroll down the beautiful Vltava river and have a chat with the swans.  Don’t take too long though, as we’ll be sending you to a combination of bars later on, some historical and some just plain cheap favourites of the locals (with massive measures – they don’t do doubles here).

We’ve done this a few times so know the best ones, but feel free to suggest any others you’ve heard good things about! You’ve got a coach to catch in the morning, so feel free to tap out at any point and head for your bed.

DAY 9

Prague to Vienna

Next stop, Vienna!

One of Europe’s gourmet capitals for both food and wine, Vienna is home to many delicious local treats. Kick off your time in Vienna with a trip to Naschmarkt, a 1.5km-long market with over 120 stalls.

Get yourself an apple strudel… or 2. Burn off the strudels by hopping on a bike to explore the city – don’t worry, It’s very safe for cyclists, there are many bike lanes and not many cars!

If biking isn’t your thing, go for a river cruise on the Danube (the same river as in Budapest!) Sunbathe on the top deck whilst soaking up the culture and Gothic buildings.

DAY 10

Vienna

Prater Amusement Park is a must see, packed with rides, dodgems and flumes, it is a nostalgic wonderland. Get an epic sunset pic of Vienna whilst at the top of the Ferris Wheel. It was built in 1897, so some of your friends might need convincing (or a glass of wine) before getting on it!

Spend you evening with a night out at the beach, yes you heard that right! Austria is a landlocked country, but thanks to the Danube, Vienna has plenty of beaches. Volleyball anyone?

The Danube Canal is lined with bars and street food vendors nestled between street art and live music – and the best thing, this is right near the city centre. Kick back and watch the sunset from a deckchair with some traditional chicken schnitzel and Viennese wine. A cheap and cheerful way to spend your final evening with your travel fam.

Next stop: Budapest!

DAY 11

Vienna to Budapest

Check into the city centre accommodation, nestled within ruin bars and cobbled lanes, it’s the perfect place to stay in this vibrant city. Budapest is a haven for travellers. A city where tradition and quirkiness collide, with the urban-hybrid rapidly establishing itself as one of the trendiest cities in Europe, as well as one of our most popular destinations.

We have specially timed our itinerary to be in Budapest on Saturday night for the Infamous Sparty at Szechenyi baths, which is not one to miss! So tonight, get your swimmers ready! P.S Take a pair of flip flops with you!

DAY 12

Budapest

Also, the traditional bathhouses are a perfect remedy for any lingering hangover from the previous night’s events. Head back to Szechenyi which is the largest spa complex in Europe. The iconic baroque building makes it the most popular attraction in the capital! Or head to a less popular bath called ‘Rudas’ – there is a rooftop bath at Rudas!

During the day, take a cruise along the river Danube. A 1-hour cruise whilst enjoying a seasonal cocktail or a soft drink.

Tonight meet the reps in the hostel reception for the Invasion Bar Crawl. We will visit 5 of the best and must see ruin bars. Enjoy the quirky Hungarian style, cheap booze and epic tour guides! Did you know the average price of a pint in Budapest is £1… £1!

DAY 13

Budapest

On your final day in Budapest explore the beauty of the city. Head over to Buda Castle and tour the historical site which was built in 1265. Spend your day wandering around the stunning landscapes in District 1. A short walk from the castle you will find Fisherman’s Bastion, one of the most famous monuments in the city.

On your final night during sunset, stroll along the Pest side of the River Danube to take in the views of the illuminated castle and spectacular views of the Parliament.

DAY 14

Budapest to Split

After visiting the capital cities, we are off to the beach!

Check in to the hostel and get ready to explore! Walking through Split’s winding streets is like stepping back in time. With the Roman buildings and ruins from the Middle Ages, this city is steeped in history. As you meander through the Old Town’s narrow lanes, expect to stumble across beautiful stone buildings and grand archways.

DAY 15

Split

A visit to Croatia’s second-largest city doesn’t have to be one long history lesson though, as Split is also home to some of the country’s best cuisine and cocktail bars. The city wakes up once the sun goes down. There are loads of nightclubs to choose from and, in the summer months, you can dance at the beach parties until the sun comes up. Don’t worry the Invasion reps know the best places to go!

If you are up for a bit of an adventure, head to Krka Waterfalls at the Krka National Park for a spectacular series of 7 waterfalls. This is a great place for enjoying nature, swimming and relaxing in the sun!

DAY 16

Split

Want to work on the tan!? A trip to Split isn’t complete without a visit to Bačvice beach. Relax and soak up the sun! Want to explore further afield? Catch a boat to the islands of Hvar, from Split’s ferry port. Hvar is actually considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Croatia so it’s definitely worth the trip!

Before you catch the ferry back make sure you grab a drink at Hula Hula and watch the famous sunset for your last night in Split.

DAY 17

Split to Lake Bled

Get your swimmers out, next stop, Lake Bled!

After a few boozy City stops, Lake Bled is the perfect spot to unwind and connect with the outdoors. The lake lies in a picturesque environment, surrounded by mountains and forests – a very popular spot for young travellers, and a great place to explore with your travelling fam.

DAY 18

Lake Bled

Thrill seeker? Start your day in Lake Bled with a toboggan ride down the mountains, you’ll get an epic view of Bled Castle and the Slovenian Alps. Footage from this would look great in a travel blog or for your Instagram. You can get a chairlift to the top, but I’d recommend biking or hiking and working off the hangover from Spilt.

Lake Bled is incredibly cheap, so however you decide to spend your time it won’t cost a bomb. With the bar crawl included too it’s one of our favourite destinations on the Europe trip.

DAY 19

Lake Bled

Find your strongest friends on the coach and get them on a canoe to the Island in the middle of the lake (you’ll thank us later once you realise how tiring rowing is).

Alternatively, paddle boards or swan boats are a great (cheap) way to spend the afternoon. Take a picnic with you, and feast on Slovenian cream cakes with the picture perfect baroque church in the background.

DAY 19

Lake Bled to Paris

To make the absolute most of the days we have, we will travel through the night to Pairs. Unfortunately, we have made it to the final stop on The Great Euro Adventure. Paris, known as the ‘City of Light’. The city oozes art, beauty and history, there is something for everyone.

One of the best ways to discover Paris is the 1-hour River Seine Cruise. Take in the sights of the Louvre, Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower. At the end of the cruise we will head to the Eiffel Tower for a delicious crepe.

Pick up some souvenirs at Les Bouquinistes, originally a book seller from the 16th Century, situated on the banks of the River Seine. Today it sells unique artwork, books and magazines.

DAY 20

Lake Bled to Paris

Enjoy an aperitif at a riverside cafe, and enjoy what Paris has to offer. Spend your afternoon people watching, sipping coffee or wine. An absolute must when in Paris is treating yourself (daily) to freshly baked croissants – they are out of the world!

By night, if you are looking for a Parisian experience, book tickets for the Moulin Rouge Cabaret show, the most famous cabaret in the world.  Step back in time for an unmissable highlight of your time in Paris. This is your time to dress up and enjoy a champagne, what a fabulous way to finish The Great Euro Adventure.

DAY 21

Paris

On your final day, wander through the beautiful streets, stumbling across gorgeous and unique buildings.

Visit Montmartre, situated on a hill in the 18th arrondissemenlusht. With panoramic views of the city and Artsy streets, Montmartre makes the perfect spot for some amazing instagram photos! Get a shot of the stunning bubblegum pink restaurant.
